Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta Georgia, on January 15, 1929. His father Martin Sr. was a pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. His mother Alberta King was a teacher at a middle school in Atlanta. Martin had a brother in sister. There names were Christine the oldest and Alfred Daniel the youngest. Martin was encountered with racism at a early age of 6. He had a friend across the street with a white boy and the boys mom said that Martin couldn't come over anymore. At the age of 11 Martin was struck by a white woman that lived across the street and was called a "nigger".
