Treatment

To this day, there is no cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is incurable, but foot deformities can be corrected with surgery. Patients can also wear a pair of fitted shoes or AFO's(ankle-foot orthotics), that can help with walking and can stop the dropfoot walk. People who have CMT do live normal lives with normal life expectancy although they have a form of MD. The best thing for them to do is pace themselves and don't overdo themselves physically, and they'll be fine.
